Day 33: Be on the Lookout for the Paranormal

There is more to the world than meets the eye. Today try to be especially receptive to paranormal manifestations and determine for yourself whether there is indeed a world well beyond the veil. Here is a list of clues to look out for in ascending order of conclusiveness.

Odd feeling/Strange wind-like whisper/Flutey sounds in the distance/Scratching noises/Unexplained smells/Unexplained footsteps/Fleeting shadows/Feelings of being watched/Dogs barking/Cats barking — Don’t jump to conclusions, there’s probably a perfectly innocent explanation.

Voices/Voices of people dead for months/Voices of people dead for years/Doors opening/Cupboard doors opening/Keys disappearing/Keys reappearing/Lights turning on and off/Mist appearing out of nowhere/Being touched by an invisible hand — Curiouser and curiouser! Contact your local paranormal investigator and probe further.

Being slapped by invisible hand/Furniture moving/Dinner plates flying across the room/Spouse speaking in tongues/Apparition (ghost)/Apparition (zombie)/Blood sluicing down walls/Head of daughter spinning/Being strangled by own intestines — You’ve probed too far. Get the hell out if it’s not too late.

I have to say my boyfriend and I love ghost stories and being creeped out; as long as it doesn’t go so far as to the last couple of steps mentioned above. The most haunted place I’ve ever experienced in my life is definitely Savannah Georgia. When I was in college living in the dorms a lot of strange things happened from wet children’s footprints on a shower mat, to the sounds of constant moving furniture upstairs when our neighbors weren’t moving anything at all, the sounds of stiletto heels and marbles rolling across the floor. It all sounds impossible and far fetched but even friends that came to visit and tried to mimic the sounds couldn’t replicate it through the concrete walls. I feel like its something you should just live with and never probe, if you and the ghosts can coexist it seems the best way to handle these situations. Ghost Hunters and various other paranormal groups have gone to Savannah to investigate some of these claims and concluded that it is indeed a haunted place. They’ve been to the Sorrel Weed house as well as the Moon River Brewing Company; although the list is even longer I’m sure. Anyway it wasn’t hard to be in tuned to the paranormal and as long as its not dangerous or some creepy demonic thing its a little fun to tell ghost stories, even when you’re an adult.
